CASE Foundation

 

Purposes, Vision, & Mission

 

The purpose of the Crane Area Schools Education Foundation is to improve the quality of, and increase support for, public education in Crane Union High School District 1J and Crane Elementary School District No. 4.  The Foundation shall secure resources from individuals, corporations and other foundations to be distributed to support programs for which federal, state and local funding is inadequate or inappropriate.  Without limitation, the foundation may work to enhance community support for public education, and promote and fund public school staff development.


The mission of the foundation is to seek and contribute financial support for continuously improving Crane Area students learning, development and achievement, and the Vision of the foundation is to help develop competent future citizens for the 21st Century.

Gifts

The Board of Directors may accept on behalf of the foundation any gift for the general purposes or for any special purpose of the foundation.  Any person who shall give any property to the foundation may make such gift subject to such conditions and limitations as to the use of the principal or income as the donor may see fit, and may specify such uses for the principal or the income as the donor may desire, provided such conditions, limitations, specifications and provisions are consistent with the general purposes of the foundation, and provided further, that the Board of Directors has the right to reject or refuse to accept any such gift in the event it would not be in the best interests of the foundation to accept such gift, or in the event such conditions, limitations, specifications, and provisions are inconsistent with the general purposes of the foundation.

 

Tax Exempt Status and Donor Deductions

 The IRS has determined that the Crane Area Schools Education Foundation is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in section 501(c)(3).  The IRS has determined that the Foundation is a publicly supported organization described in sections 509(a)(1) and 170(b)(1)(A)(vi).  The foundation's tax exempt 509(a)(1) ID# is 75-3059316.

 Donors may deduct contributions to the foundation as provided in section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.  Requests, legacies, devises, transfers, or gifts to the foundation or for the foundation's use are deductible for Federal estate and gift tax purposes if they meet the applicable provisions of sections 2055, 2106, and 2522 of the code.  Donors may deduct contributions to the foundation only to the extent that their contributions are gifts, with no consideration received.
